The program includes:

A poetry reading from Leslé Honore, an Afro-Latina poet, activist, and author of Fist & Fire.

A screening of The Black Archive Project: Chicago Uprisings 2020 by Resita Cox, who “uses filmmaking as a means to archive the Black experience and retrieve Black history that has been lost.”

A screening of Unapologetic, a film told through activists Bella Bahhs and Janaé Bonsu. This film takes a look into the Black Lives Matter movement.

The artist discussion will follow the films with O’Shay, Cox, Honore, and more.

The celebration will be presented in collaboration with Arts + Public Life and South Side Community Arts Center.
