La SITI announces OFFERED SCHOLARSHIPS TO AMERICAN ACTORS – Enticing actors

La SITI is opening its doors to international students by offering $11,000 worth of one-year scholarships for aspiring American actors. Scholarship recipients will learn the Italian theatrical technique at the International School of Improvisation and Theater (La SITI) based in Rome.

The scholarship, worth $11,000, will have two rounds of submissions for American students interested in attending La SITI in Rome. The first round of submissions closes in October with the final round of closing at the end of November.

La SITI says, “Qualified students will learn from some of the best actors, directors, writers, authors and improv specialists in Italy. They will lean authentic Italian theatrical art, such as Comemedia dell’Arte, Giorgio Strehler or Federico Fellini, while producing their own pieces in original format shows with shows touring throughout the year in beautiful theatres across Rome.”

 

Students interested in applying will need to submit a resume, headshot, social media links and a brief cover letter. In addition, applicants need to compile a video that includes a brief description of themselves, approximately 30 seconds long, along with a monologue of their choice lasting approximately two to three minutes, and lastly an improvisational skit which will be based off the actor opening to a page of a random book in their possession and improvising a short monologue based on the first words they see.
