New Philharmonic presents A Night at the Movies. Conducted by Maestro Kirk Muspratt, New Philharmonic performs music from a dozen films from over the decades, including To Kill a Mockingbird, The Pink Panther, Beauty and the Beast, Jurassic Park, and more.

Muspratt says that the “film scores greatly enhance the experience of the movie. When we hear the music years later, for a moment we’re transported back in time, experiencing feelings and remembering people we may not have thought about for a while.”

The program for A Night at the Movies includes:

Max Steiner’s Tara from Gone with the Wind (1939)
Eight time Academy Award winner, Gone with the Wind is the highest grossing film of all time, when adjusted for inflation.

Elmer Bernstein’s The Magnificent Seven (1960)
No. 8 on the American Film Institute's list of the top 25 American film scores.

Henry Mancini’s The Pink Panther Theme (1963)

John Williams’ The Men of Yorktown from Midway (1976)

James Roy Horner’s Main Title/ Takeoff from The Rocketeer (1991)

John Williams’ Theme from Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park (1993)
Jurassic Park is the highest grossing film of 1993.
