The New West Symphony presents an online cultural festival entitled A Tour of China. The four-day festival calendar is as follows:

 

     Thursday, Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. PST

                        Pre Concert Talk with David Ravetch

 

     Friday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. PST

                        Culture Insights

                        Discussion of Chinese culture, as well as musical, historical, and the artistic contributions. Chinese Americans make culture in California.

 

     Saturday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. PST

                       Meet the Artists

                       Performances by, and interviews with performers Pipa Virtuoso, Wu Man, Sasha Cooke, and Hong Wang

 

     Sunday, Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. PST

                      A Tour of China Symphony Concert

                      Symphony concert celebrating the Chinese New Year and the Spring Lantern Festival

 

Each event is live-streamed, with access via links afterwards.

A Tour of China is the fourth online cultural festival in the series of spotlights on different cultures that shape classical music in Southern California. Previous festivals in the New West Symphony’s 2020-21 concert season are also available on-demand on the New West Symphony website.
