A spokesperson describes the event as follows:

“...the exhibition is centered around work from Maryam Eisler and Alexei Riboud's 2024 photographic journey through Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah, and features visual explorations of the American West by legendary and contemporary photographers, that examine the myths, realities, and cultural nuances of the storied landscape.

The exhibition offers an opportunity to reflect on how the region has shaped—and continues to shape—our collective imagination. In addition to Eisler and Riboud’s diverse perspectives on the same landscapes, photographs by Ansel Adams, Diane Arbus, Esther Bubley, Mark Citret, Bruce Davidson, Liliane de Cock, Frank Gohlke, Jungjin Lee, Danny Lyon, Mary Ellen Mark, Joel Meyerowitz, Dennis Stock, Edward Weston, and Wim Wenders will be on view. Collectively, the images challenge traditional tropes, weaving stories of resilience, identity, and cultural transformation. The exhibition highlights what sits at the core of Eisler and Riboud’s project: how photographers can experience the same landscapes through vastly different perspectives. Replacing the myth of vast, uninhabited landscapes with layered and often contradictory narratives, the exhibition invites audiences to experience the West as a rich tapestry of stories and perspectives, sparking questions about identity, history, and freedom..."
