Rivendell Theatre Ensemble presents 8:46 (Breathing Room), a new play festival of four plays, each 8 minutes and 46 seconds long.
8:46 (Breathing Room) is a part of Rivendell Theatre Ensemble’s The Breath Project. As described by a Rivendell Theatre Ensemble spokesperson, 8:46 (Breathing Room) is “a national archive of original, 8 minute and 46 second works by BIPOC artists created in response to the murder of George Floyd. Through art, action and advocacy, The Breath Project seeks to build a more equitable theatre community and actively dismantle structural racism in the American Theater.”
The virtual event on November 1, 2021 is a “remembrance of the lives lost to brutality, negligence, and ecological apartheid of the last two years,” as described by a Rivendell Theatre Ensemble spokesperson.
The festival features the work of Mari DeOleo, Tina Fakhrid-Deen, Gloria Imseih Petrelli, and Risha Tenae.
