MOVING DIALOGS: CULTURE IN MOTION

Moving Dialogs, which kicks off in April during Chicago Dance Month, is presented by See Chicago Dance and the Chicago Cultural Alliance. The three partnerships include the dance company VADCo with the Chinese American Museum, Chicago Dance Crash with the Haitian American Museum of Chicago, and Synapse Arts with the Indo-American Heritage Museum.

“The partnership with See Chicago Dance was developed because we share a common goal – to foster new opportunities for innovation and collaboration in dance, art, and culture,” says Emily Reusswig, executive director of the Chicago Cultural Alliance. “We want audiences to feel more connected to the cultural heritage collections that reside in Chicago and movement is an exciting way to connect.”

“See Chicago Dance is thrilled to present this new initiative in partnership with the Chicago Cultural Alliance, which is born out of our collective commitment to art and culture,” says Heather Hartley, executive director of See Chicago Dance. “As a universal, non-verbal language, dance is unique in its ability to express and connect across various cultures and ethnicities. We look forward to this spring’s pilot program and hope it will lead to similar cross-cultural partnerships in the future.”
