Sideshow Theatre Company has announced its 2017-2018 season, which will consist of two plays presented at the Victory Gardens Richard Christiansen Theater.

The season opens with the Chicago premier of Mia Chung’s You For Me For You, a tale of two North Korean sisters and their attempt to escape from Kim Jong Un’s totalitarian dictatorship. The play, directed by Elly Green, will make its Chicago debut on March 4th.

The season concludes with the world premiere of Tilikum, written by Kristiana Rae Colón and directed by Lili-Anne Brown. The play follows the titular Tilikum, once king of the oceans but now held captive in a marine amusement park.

According to Artistic Director Johnathan L. Green, this “unprecedented time in the United States” calls for “stories that might allow us to see each other more fully.”
