In Gallery 1 at Western Exhibitions, Erin Washington’s solo show is displayed. Washington’s work consists of paintings and drawings that combine imagery and text in an attempt to find meaning of the universe we live in. These works consist of a medley of ambiguous scientific diagrams, art historical references, Post-it notes, studio debris, mythological figures, and self-deprecating jokes. Washington is also presenting a selection of drawings from an exercise called 100 drawings in 1 hour.
In Gallery 2 Western Exhibitions presents text work by Cary Leibowitz in collaboration with New Discretions. Leibowitz’s work aims to deal with neuroses, anxiety, self-loathing, self-doubt, and self-interrogation.
