A spokesperson says---
“...HOMECOMING/UN AUTRE JOUR, Marigny Opera Ballet’s program of two premieres at the Marigny Opera House, is an ode to Louisiana’s culture and traditions. The two newly commissioned works are accompanied by music composed and performed live by local favorite Sweet Crude Band.
The two choreographers present vastly different perspectives. Shane Urton (Homecoming) comes ... from Belgium’s Opera Ballet Vlaanderen. A native of North Carolina, his career to date has included positions with Joffrey Ballet, Royal New Zealand Ballet and the Norwegian National Ballet. Amalia Najera, choreographer of our second premiere, Un Autre Jour, is a Mexican-American dancer and dance maker recently graduated from Tulane University. Her work has already won national recognition, with a performance at the American College Dance Association in Washington, D.C..."
