Have you ever thought to yourself, “I really want to read all seven Harry Potter books right now, but I just haven’t got the time?...”

Well you’re in luck! There’s a show in town that fits all of your Harry Potter needs in a short amount of time. POTTED POTTER is back in Chicago for seventy minutes of Potter-filled fun.

Broadway in Chicago Hosts Potter 1 and Potter 2

With a furrowed brow, Potter 1 sits at a desk center stage surrounded by books. He continues his reading as Potter 2 makes his way through the audience. He smiles and and introduces himself as Joe before the show kicks off.

He then runs on the stage and proudly begins showing off the set he created himself to impress Potter 1, James. He did his best with a wardrobe, a spooky coffin, and some warthogs, but clearly hasn’t read all the Harry Potter books, much to James’ dismay. James sends Joe to finish reading book number 7 so they can make sure they finish the show!

Running Through the Books

Then the fun gets started as they begin to work their way through the series, summarizing each book in turn. They breeze through books one and two as James, being the Harry Potter expert, leads the way playing the boy wizard. That leaves Joe to play every other character in the books. He dashes around the stage doing quick changes faster than you can say Quidditch switching from Voldemort, to Ron, to Hagrid, and back to Voldemort once again!

Speaking of Quidditch, you’ll also have a blast with the Quidditch match in the middle of the show. And they continue to keep each book’s summaries interesting with different storytelling techniques things like animated projections, songs, and wrestling matches.

Comedic Duo for the Win

Though the summaries themselves are fun, in this writer’s view, it’s the comedic duo who bring them to life that make this show a blast. James and Joe throw in what seems like improvised bits and genuinely look like they’re having a ton of fun on stage trying to make each other laugh. It’s almost like a comedy show that would make this a fun night out for any group of folks.

POTTED POTTER is good for anyone who wants a laugh. For the dedicated Potter fans who have the books memorized, you’ll laugh at the outrageous parodies these guys perform for all the characters you know and love. And even if you’re one who isn’t a die-hard fan, you’ll have a fun time laughing at their jokes.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
