Lyric Opera will open it's 2017/2018 season on September 23 with Orphee et Eurydice by Christoph Gluck. This french opera is a retelling of the classical myth of a poet and musician who journeys to the underworld to retrieve his lost love. Lyric Opera's season will also include works by Wagner, Puccini, Verdi, Bizet, Mozart, Bellini, and Gounod. The musical of this season will be Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar.
