Paula Cooper Gallery showcases an exhibition of recent work by Justin Matherly, the artist’s fifth one-person show with the gallery. Referencing sculptures from Greek and Roman antiquity, Matherly’s work emphasizes the relevance of the human figure as a major trope throughout art history. His creations are made of concrete, gypsum, fiberglass resin, and other contemporary materials.
