About Porchlight Music Theatre

Porchlight Music Theatre is now in its 22nd season. They are well known for their performances and nationally recognized. Porchlight has also debuted many Chicago and world premieres. Known for intimate and powerful theatrical experiences, they are soon moving into a new space with new possibilities.

 Here is what is coming up--


The Tony award winning musical, BILLY ELIOT, with music by Elton John.  The story of a young boy who trades who finds his passion in dance.  Written by Lee Hall.

October 6th- November 19th 2017.


This musical tells the story of three friends journey through life. It moves backwards in time and covers their friendship over the span of 30 years.  Written by George Furth with music by Steven Soundheim.

January 26th-March 11th 2018.


The Tony award winning best musical, MEMPHIS, is set in the 1950’s and revolves around the story of a white Radio DJ and a black club singer. Together they try to find success and change the world. Written by Joe DiPietro with music by David Bryan.

April 19th –June 3rd 2018.

Porchlight Revisits:


Based on the classic film, this play follows a television interviewer and cartoonist who fall in love, get married, and face professional struggles together (November 14th – 16th 2017).


A Romantic comedy about a composer and a lyricist who struggle to make their personal and professional lives work together. Written by Neil Simon with music by Marvin Hamlisch (March 6th-8th 2018).


The story of a con man who tries to make it straight after prompting from his wife but really proceeds to plan his biggest con yet (May 22nd -24th).

New Faces Series

New Faces is a series at porchlight that celebrates different years on Broadway by singing hits and misses from a past Broadway season. There will be a Winter, Spring, and Summer addition. Dates are TBA.
