Saint Sebastian Players Announces 37th Season- A Drama, A Farce, and A Comedy

The Saint Sebastian Players’ 37th season begins this October. The three upcoming shows are all set in the 1920’s -30’s and take place in Spain, Britain, and Chicago, respectively.

The House of Bernarda Alba

They will kick off their season with THE HOUSE OF BERNARDA ALBA. The Spanish drama is by Federico Garcia Lorca. It is centered around a family who has recently lost their father. The mother closes their home and she and her 5 daughters enter an 8-year period of mourning. All the daughters desire love but are under the strict rule of their mother. Except the youngest who runs off to pursue an affair. Drama and tragedy ensue.

Performances are October 20th – November 12th 2017.

Hay Fever

The play by Noel Coward features a couple spending a quiet weekend in the country. However, their weekend turns out not to be so quest when their children show up with guests in tow. The wife’s “new flame” and the husband’s “inspiration” also show up and their weekend is ruined.

Performances are February 16th to March 11th 2018.

The Front Page

Set in a 1920’s Chicago newsroom, this comedy follows a reporter hoping to break away from journalism. After a jailbreak, an escapee finds his way into the reporter’s custody. A game of cat and mouse follows as the reporters tries to keep the criminal hidden from the cops and other reporters. All to break the scoop himself.

Performances are April 27th- May 20th  2018.
