The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison

The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison is one of those books that really opens your eyes. This was a read that I would consider as “hard,” not necessarily due to the language, but due to the content. I went into this book knowing absolutely nothing, which I’m still not sure if that made my experience more or less impactful. All I know is that I am so thankful that I finally read it. While no one takes joy from reading these kinds of stories, it's undeniable that it's important that they are being told. Ignorance may be bliss, but awareness is what makes change happen.

The Bluest Eye is available for sale on Random Penguin House, among other sources.
