Drama by Raina Telgemier

I read Drama by Raina Telgemier at the perfect time in my life. I was fifteen and while the intended demographic was geared towards middle-grade readers, I don’t think that anyone can age-out of a heartwarming story. I was in the mood for a relatable, quick read and this book definitely delivered. As someone who (sadly) was not into musical theatre growing up, this graphic novel allowed me to be introduced to the epic feelings and wonder that children associate with theatre. It was truly fascinating to see how Telgemier perfectly captures the intricacies of middle school friendships, crushes, and all of the anxieties that come with putting on a very important (or life-altering as the characters would say) performance all in one short story.

Drama is available for sale on Scholastic, among other sources
