A spokesperson says---
"...Falsettos explores what it means to create a family when life refuses to fit neatly into expectations.
Set in New York City at the dawn of the 1980s, the musical follows Marvin, a man struggling to hold together the complicated pieces of his life after leaving his wife, Trina, for his lover, Whizzer. As Marvin attempts to maintain relationships with Trina, Whizzer and his young son Jason, their unconventional family grows to include Trina's psychiatrist-turned-husband Mendel and their neighbors, Dr. Charlotte and Cordelia.
What begins as a...portrait of modern family life gradually unfolds against the emerging AIDS crisis, as the characters are confronted with change, loss and the realization that the families we build can be every bit as powerful as the ones into which we are born..."
