Looking for Alaska by John Green

Reading Looking for Alaska was the most delicious blend of both the romance and mystery genres that I absolutely adore, and it kept me guessing for at least half the novel. John Green seamlessly blends the common problems of young adult relationships, navigating teen lives, and all of the complicated feelings associated with of home (while also tackling the more complicated ideas of grief and loss). It is incredibly important to teach younger kids bigger ideas and complex feelings from a young age so that they are prepared and can healthily process their emotions later on in life. Personally, seeing characters go through difficult circumstances allows me to better prepare myself, and I find myself relating back to books I had read at a younger age when I encountered similar situations.

Looking for Alaska is available for sale on Penguin Random House Books, among other sources.
