"Nicoletti will be presenting a solo exhibition of newly-commissioned artworks by French artist Josèfa Ntjam (b. 1992), whom we have been representing since 2020. We will be showing a new series of photomontages printed on aluminum panels, as well as two sculptures made of 3D-printed ceramics. In this new series of works, the artist continues to revisit events related to colonial and post-colonial history. This time, she brings attention to feminine figures who have participated in independence movements in Africa, as well as political dissidents involved in anti-racist organizations in Europe and the United States (including Angela Davis, members of the Black Panthers, and figures from popular culture such as Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G).

This exhibition comes at a key moment in Ntjam's career – right after the opening of a solo exhibition at The Photographer's Gallery in London (opening on 22 September), and just before the presentation of an important commission as part of the group exhibition Les Portes du possible, Art & science-fiction at the Centre Pompidou in Metz (opening on 5 September). For Nicoletti, it is crucial to give exposure to the often hidden histories that Ntjam showcases in her work, including in art fairs. Paris+ by Art Basel will be an amazing opportunity to introduce her practice to international collectors and curators." (Camille Houzé, Director of Nicoletti)
