The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky Testimonial

When I first read The Perks of Being a Wallflower in high school, it absolutely changed the way I interacted with and spoke to my peers. The novel depicts exactly the kind of troubles most teens go through silently, in varying degrees, and allowed me to change my worldview. This novel wholly encompasses the teenage experience, it teaches the importance of being kind, as well as advocating for all of the voices that are left unheard. Stephen Chbosky uses both the greatest and the worst of characters to illustrate points of inclusivity and endurance. This book resonated with me at a young age as well as with many of my friends, and the gorgeous quote, “We accept the love we think we deserve”, will be stuck in my head forever.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is available for sale on Simon & Schuster, among other sources.
