South Chicago Dance Theatre presents its 4th annual home season concert, Cartography of Peace. According to an event spokesperson, the concert takes “inspiration from the art of surrealist assemblage and employs contemporary dance and opera to explore the ethos of peace.”

The work is set to the improvisatory sounds of “Lamarre, Hill, and Poetry” written by choreographer Kia S. Smith, and the music of notable artists Vivaldi, Balkan Beat Box, Meredith Monk, and up- and- coming composer Jessie Montgomery.
