TASHKENT CHORSU BAZAAR — Caravan Stop Modern Style

Although remodeled in the Soviet era, Chorsu Bazaar still provides  a glimpse into Tashkent as a vibrant Silk Road stop.  Each market dome houses a maze of spice, produce or meats in what feels like miles of aisles.  Knick-knacks, gold and jewelry shops and more intermingle with semi-open air smoky grill restaurants.  Locals crowd out the tourists.

TASHKENT UZBEKISTAN
Outside the network of bazaar domes one can walk back alley neighborhoods. There, you share narrow paths with carts that emerge from what seems like hidden bakery spaces. At the market Uzbekistan's signature bread is on sale in all directions.
