To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

When I first read Harper Lee's To Kill A Mockingbird, I had heard about it all my life with little to no knowledge on what the main plot was about. I had known that it touched on racial inequality, but that was about as far as my knowledge went from ages 5 to 15. Going into the book blindly had not only made me more connected to the characters, but it also made the issues with race hit much deeper. It was incredible to hear how wonderful this story was throughout my childhood and have it meet the praise it got when I finally read it for myself. Even to this day, it still remains one of my favorite books because it widened my perspective on how older literature can be not just engaging, but still relevant to society now.

To Kill a Mockingbird is available for sale at HarperCollins Publishers, among other sources.
