Through visuals, text, sound, and performance, Hypocrisy of Justice: Sights and Sounds from the Black Metropolis aims to explore inequities within systems and institutions, along with lived experience of confinement, redemption, hope, and home.

Hypocrisy of Justice is a continuation of Dana Hall’s 2015 collaboration with dramaturg/writer/director/actor Cheryl Lynn Bruce and artist Kerry James Marshall.  Musician and composer Dana Hall performs with his quintet— Jeff Parker (guitar), Tomeka Reid (cello), Clark Sommers (bass), and Marquis Hill (trumpet).

The performance is accompanied by free panel discussions and symposium events. Panel topics include housing rights, public health, environmental justice, food justice, criminal justice reform, and radical imagination towards social justice and racial equity.
