Banned Books — Testimonial Guidelines

  • Maximum of 200 words in 1st person singular

  • Speak from the heart – this is not a review, keep it brief. 

  • Guiding questions to help:

    • Talk about how the book affected you. What impact did it have on you? What feelings did it leave you with? Did it change your worldview?  

    • Would you recommend this book, and what demographics might you recommend it to?

    • Any thoughts about why this book was banned.

    • Do you think the banning was appropriate? Why or why not?

    • What might you say to people who believe this book should be banned?

After Writing your Testimonial

  • Send the Testimonial draft to bannedbookspicturethispost@gmail.com Please also send 1-3 pictures of the book that you’re writing your testimonial on. See examples of other testimonials for inspiration. Also see below for ideas. 
    • You holding the book, reading it, or it on a bookshelf

    • A selfie with you and the book.
