The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

In 2017, my sophomore year of high school, The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas was published. After hearing great reviews from all my favorite book influencers, I decided to pick up a copy. I was amazed by Thomas’s ability to bring attention to discrimination faced by the black community while still having an uplifting ending. The Hate U Give has had a lasting impact on me because it opens my eyes to the subtle discrimination that occurs daily in our society.

The Hate U Give is available for sale on Harper Collins Publishers, among other sources.
